The KRG Cares Program connects community and culture. It provides distinct opportunity for individuals throughout Canada, The United States, and the Caribbean Islands to grow, recover, and prosper. It provides financial means to develop and sustain a career or to help find creative solutions to end hunger & poverty when disaster strikes.
We are proud to work with three very beneficial organizations that will help us reach our vision, mission, and mandate to give back to the industry & communities that have supported KRG Hospitality Inc. over the past 10+ years.
– The Canadian Hospitality Foundation
– The AHLA Foundation
– World Central Kitchen
Each calendar year, we will donate a portion of our Canadian proceeds to The Canadian Hospitality Foundation, a portion of our USA proceeds to The AHLA Foundation, and another portion of our overall proceeds will be set aside to donate to World Central Kitchen when they enter any of our 8 regions to help a community in need.
José Andrés and his wife Patricia started World Central Kitchen with the vision of an organization that would create smart solutions to hunger and poverty, and for many years they saw an amazing impact through their clean cook-stoves initiative, culinary training programs, and social enterprise ventures that empower communities and strengthen economies.
WCK continues planting roots in the communities where they work. Their Plow to Plate program in Puerto Rico is helping to create food resiliency in the face of future disasters. In Haiti, aspiring chefs are obtaining the skills and confidence they need to elevate their careers and the country’s tourism sector.
They have also been there during the devastating hurricanes throughout the Caribbean and the recent Covid-19 Pandemic by feeding communities, front-line workers, and setting up temporary kitchens – All initiatives we stand-behind and support both morally & financially.
The American Hotel & Lodging Foundation’s mission is to help people build careers, improve their lives, and strengthen the industry. They achieve this by providing the necessary tools, resources, and education so people are able to launch long-term careers in our great industry.
The organization keeps the industry’s talent pipeline filled by funding scholarships, workforce development programs and school-to-career outreach programs that launch careers and provide their member hotels with the talent they need to succeed over the long term.
Created in 1953 as the charitable, not-for-profit affiliate of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), the foundation has distributed more than $27.5 million so far and we are happy to contribute.
The Canadian Hospitality Foundation unites hospitality and foodservice industry stakeholders to invest in the most sought-after scholarship programs.
The mission of the Foundation is to bring together all stakeholders within the hospitality and foodservice industry to invest in the future of their own industry by funding the initiatives and programs of the Foundation which promote, encourage and support passionate individuals to enter into the industry and consider it as a life-long career.
The Foundation is therefore committed to raising the necessary financial and career support from the diverse sectors of the foodservice and hospitality industry including the supporting providers of goods and services as suppliers to these industries. KRG Hospitality is proud to support this nation wide program associated with Restaurants Canada.
