Revealed at an awards ceremony hosted by Wynn Las Vegas, The World’s Best Restaurant—and The Best Restaurant in Europe—is located in Barcelona, Spain.

Helmed by three incredible chefs, Disfrutar earned the number-one spot on the 2024 World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Providing a hint of what guests can expect, the restaurant’s name translates to “Enjoy.”

Interestingly, the trio of chefsOriol Castro, Mateu Casañas and Eduard Xatruchwere members of the senior creative team at El Bulli. To provide a measure of context, El Bulli clinched the top spot on the very first World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2002. The legendary restaurant would go on to earn number one again in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.

So, it’s not a stretch to say that when Chefs Oriol, Casañas, and Xatruch opened Disfrutar in 2014, the restaurant world expected amazing achievements. By 2018, the three chefs led their restaurant to a debut on the 2018 World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking, finding themselves at number 18. Just a year later, Disfrutar reached number nine on the list.

For our Canadian and American readers, I’m going to reveal two bits of news now. First, there are no Canadian restaurants on this year’s top 50 list. That means that taken together with the expanded, 51 to 100 ranking, Canada is a no-show.

Second, only two American restaurants landed among the 50 best restaurants in the world. One is in New York, the other, California. There are three other American restaurantstwo in New York City and one in Chicagoon the expanded list. However, a Los Angeles restaurant, Kato, bagged the Resy One To Watch Award 2024.

In contrast, Mexico City is home to three restaurants in the top 50, as Lima and Tokyo. Paris and Bangkok each boast four restaurants, grabbing the most spots.

The awards ceremony, hosted at Wynn Las Vegas, honours the very best gastronomic talent from 26 territories across five continents.

Ranked at No.2 in the 2023 list, Disfrutar is famed for modern techniques and beautiful ingredients, resulting in an experience that subverts traditional fine dining in a completely surprising way. Mitsuharu ‘Micha’ Tsumura, the chef-owner of Maido in Lima, wins the Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice Award 2024, the only award to be voted for by his peers, in light of his dedication to putting Peru onto the world culinary stage, evidenced by Maido’s position as No.1 on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2023.

Australian chef and restaurateur Neil Perry – whose restaurant portfolio has included the legendary Rockpool Bar & Grill, Rosetta and Spice Temple, as well as his latest venture, Margaret – has enjoyed a career spanning more than 45 years and is now rewarded with the Woodford Reserve Icon Award. Perry is arguably his country’s most influential chef and is known for his visionary interpretations of Modern Australian and Asian cuisines.

Nina Métayer is named The World’s Best Pastry Chef 2024, sponsored by Sosa. Métayer’s sculptural creations have garnered attention the world over and her beautiful work is inspiring a new generation of pastry chefs.

Restaurants from four new cities have entered or re-entered the list, with La Colombe in Cape Town (No.49), SingleThread in Healdsburg (No.46), Oteque in Rio de Janeiro (No.37), and Mingles in Seoul (No.44), showing the awards’ ever-expanding international footprint in recognising the best restaurants across the globe.

Based in Hong Kong, chef Vicky Cheng’s Wing (No.20) is recognised with the Highest New Entry Award 2024, and The Chairman (No.26) – also in Hong Kong – bags the Highest Climber Award 2024, sponsored by Highstreet World. The Chairman moves up 24 spots from the 2023 list and was also recognised as The Best Restaurant in Hong Kong by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024.

The Beronia World’s Best Sommelier Award is presented to Pablo Rivero, sommelier and owner of Don Julio, Buenos Aires. Previously recognised as Latin America’s Best Sommelier 2022 as part of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, Rivero is known for his championing of the region’s wine and his thoughtful pairings with local produce.

Berlin’s Nobelhart & Schmutzig (No.43) is announced as the winner of the Sustainable Restaurant Award, in recognition of its unerring advocacy for better agricultural policies and the voices of producers. Its ‘brutally local’ ethos is testament to its personal relationships with farmers and growers, allowing the team to offer a truly regional and seasonal menu.

The evening also celebrated those honoured with pre-announced special awards. These included: Champions of Change winners Jessica Rosval and Caroline Caporossi – founders of Roots in Modena, a social enterprise restaurant that hosts a training programme for migrant women – and João Diamante of Diamantes Na Cozinha in Rio de Janeiro, founder of a culinary initiative which creates opportunities for young people in vulnerable situations; Janaína Torres, winner of The World’s Best Female Chef Award; Plénitude in Paris, which was presented with the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award; and Kato, Los Angeles, which picked up the Resy One To Watch Award.

The Voting Process

The list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 is created from the votes of 1,080 international restaurant industry experts and well-travelled gourmets who make up The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy. The gender-balanced Academy is comprised of 27 separate regions around the world, each of which has 40 members including an Academy Chair. No sponsor from the event has any influence over the voting process.

Professional services consultancy Deloitte independently adjudicates The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, including the ranking from 1-50. This adjudication ensures that the integrity and authenticity of the voting process and the resulting lists are protected.

Those in the elite group of No.1 ranked restaurants (listed below) have delivered on their exemplary reputations time and again and will be forever honoured as iconic dining destinations in the Best of the Best hall of fame. The chefs and restaurateurs who have led these restaurants to the pinnacle of the list have expressed their desire to invest in the future of the sector and ‘give back’ to the food world through new projects and innovation. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants is excited to announce numbers 51 through 100 on this year’s list ahead of the awards ceremony in Las Vegas on June 5.

More than 1,000 independent votersconsisting of chefs, journalists, and foodies on the gohelped to form this year’s list. These same experts cast their votes to create the 2024 World’s 50 Best Restaurant ranking, numbers one through fifty.

But let’s get back to restaurants 51 through 100. Twelve of the extended list are new entries to the list. That means that a quarter of the back 50 restaurant are new to the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Along those lines, three are re-entries. These restaurants are Mil in Cusco, Peru; Willem Hiele in Oudenburg, West Flanders, Belgium; and Indian Accent in New Delhi, India.

Just three of the restaurants on the extended list are in the US, with one in Chicago and two in New York City. Unfortunately, none are located in Canada. Hopefully, at least one restaurant in the Great White North will find itself ranked somewhere among the top fifty.

THE WORLD’S 50 BEST RESTAURANTS ANNOUNCES THE 51-100 LIST FOR 2024

The extended list is unveiled ahead of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 awards ceremony in Las Vegas on 5 June

22 May 2024 – The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, today reveals the list of restaurants ranked from No.51 to No.100, ahead of this year’s awards ceremony, which takes place in Las Vegas on 5 June. The extended 51-100 list features restaurants across six continents and is compiled from the votes of 1,080 independent experts from the world of gastronomy, from food journalists and globally renowned chefs to travelling gastronomes. Each has contributed their votes to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024, with the full list to be revealed two weeks from today, live on stage.

The 51-100 List in Numbers

  • The 51-100 list includes 12 new entries from 11 different cities, ranging from Berlin and Mumbai to Seoul and Sydney
  • The 51-100 list includes restaurants in 23 territories across six continents
  • 13 entries are from Asia, 23 from Europe, six from North America, five from South America, one from the Middle East, one from Africa and one from Oceania
  • The highest new entry in the 51-100 list is Atelier Moessmer Norbert Niederkofler in Brunico, Italy, at No.52

Europe gains six new entries to the list this year, including Atelier Moessmer Norbert Niederkofler (No.52) in Brunico; Coda (No.62) in Berlin; Bozar (No.63) in Brussels; Le Doyenné (No.70) in Saint-Vrain; Restaurant Jan (No.84) in Munich and Mountain (No.94) in London.

France leads the way with four further restaurants, including: Flocons de Sel (No.76) in Megève; La Grenouillère (No.77) in La Madelaine-sous-Montreuil; Alléno Paris Au Pavillon Ledoyen (No.79) in Paris and Ceto (No.85) in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin also represented. Four further restaurants in the UK are represented on the extended list, with Brat (No.65), The Clove Club (No.80), Lyle’s (No.87) and Core by Clare Smyth (No.97) all claiming a spot.

Germany boasts a total of four entries in the ranking, with Ernst (No.75) in Berlin and Tantris (No.88) in Munich, also placing. Three restaurants from Spain are voted into the extended list: Enigma
(No.59) in Barcelona, Aponiente (No.72) in El Puerto de Santa María and Mugaritz (No.81) in San Sebastián. Italy is also represented by Le Calandre (No.51) in Rubano, while Belgium’s Willem Hiele, in Oudenburg, returns to the list at No.83. One restaurant from Denmark and Turkey each place in the ranking, in the form of Kadeau (No.54) in Copenhagen and Neolokal (No.91) in Istanbul, respectively.

Asia welcomes new entries from Masque in Mumbai (No.78), as well as Mosu (No.86) and Onjium (No.96), both in Seoul, alongside a return for New Delhi’s Indian Accent (No.89). Three Japanese
restaurants feature on the list: Narisawa, Tokyo (No.56), La Cime, Osaka (No.66) and Sazenka, Tokyo (No.93). Mainland China is represented by Fu He Hui, Shanghai at No.69, while Singapore has three placements, including Burnt Ends at No.68, Labyrinth at No.92 and Meta at No.95. Two Thai restaurants place in the ranking with Potong at No.57 and Nusara at No.74, both located in Bangkok.

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants continues to recognise North America’s flourishing gastronomy with new entries Smyth, in Chicago, at No.90 and Fauna, in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, at No.100. Two further restaurants from Mexico feature: Guadalajara’s Alcalde at No.67 and Mexico City’s Sud 777 at No.82. From the US, Le Bernadin in New York is at No.71 while Cosme, also in New York, is at No.99.

South America claims five entries on the extended list. Bogotá’s Leo – from The World’s Best Female Chef 2022, Leonor Espinosa – places at No.53. Mérito, Lima comes in at No.55, while Cusco’s Mil is at No.73. Lasai in Rio de Janeiro is at No.58 and Nuema, Quito – home to The World’s Best Pastry Chef 2023, Pía Salazar – is voted No.61.

Cape Town’s Fyn, winner of the Sustainable Restaurant Award 2023, places at No.60, while Dubai’s Orfali Bros Bistro is at No.64. Australia is represented in the extended ranking by Sydney’s Saint Peter, led by chef Josh Niland, which places at No.98.

An intimate, 24-key property with extraordinary views of Lake Como holds the number-one spot on the first-ever World’s 50 Best Hotels list.

Unquestionably, every hotel on the list is incredible. Clearly, the World’s 50 Best is making their standards clear. Truly, I don’t envy the task the voters and academy chairs will face in organizing the 2024 list. (I do envy their travels and hotel stays, of course.)

Passalacqua, once a villa owned by a count, has earned the World’s 50 Best Hotels crown.

Interestingly, a number of the hotels on the inaugural World’s 50 Best Hotels list are similar in size to Passalacqua, as far as number of keys goes. Like the number-one hotel, Aman Venice (no. 14) also has 24 keys. The Singita Lodges (no. 15) at Kruger National Park have 23 keys. Finally, Nihi Sumba (no. 18) has 27 keys, though they’re all separate villas.

Of course, Passalacqua also features separate buildings.

At the top of the property sits the Palazz, a decadent but elegant country home. Heading toward Lake Como from the Palazz, guests encounter the luxe Villa. Following are the bar, pool, fitness center, bocce court, tennis court, and acres of immaculate gardens. Overlooking the alluring waters of Lake Como is the Casa al Lago, literally “the House by the Lake.”

Through the Palazz, Villa, Casa al Lago, and seven acres of gardens, Passalacqua delivers a unique interpretation of luxury.

La Villeggiatura

I’m certain that when some people hear “best hotel” they immediately picture opulent temples built to deliver the highest level of hospitality to the elite among elite guests.

However, luxury, opulence, elegance, decadence… In the hospitality world, particularly in the five-star segment, there are multiple interpretations of those words.

On one end of the spectrum a concept can be ostentatious, pretentious. And on the other, an operator and their team can take great pains to ensure they deliver an experience that simply whispers luxury.

Passalacqua approaches luxury and indulgence with intention. There’s no question that the villa, built in the late 1780s for Count Andrea Lucini Passalacqua, is opulent. Villa Pasalacqua was put up for auction by its previous owner, an American banker, and purchased by the De Santis family in 2018. The family, who also operate the stunning, 84-key Grand Hotel Tremezzo, partnered with interior design studio BAMO for a three-year restoration. The results, of course, are breathtaking.

Breathtaking but restrained. Passalacqua’s guiding principle is to allow its guests to experience la villeggiatura. While some English speakers translate this concept to a vacation or getaway, it’s much more than that to Italians.

La villeggiatura, traditionally and to the Passalacqua team, means to leave one’s city home and travel for a stay in a country home, often for an entire season. The De Santis family delivers on this concept, adhering to their mission to ensure that Passalacqua guests feel as though their relaxing and recharging at their home in the country.

Considering what the collective at BAMO has to say about the property, the villa itself dictated that they honor la villeggiatura during the restoration of the property.

Quiet Luxury

Luxury and indulgence go beyond interior and exterior design, of course. Those elements are also about more than simply anticipating and catering to a certain level of guest’s every whim.

One of my favorite components of Passalacqua is the approach to food and beverage.

We’re talking about a property in Italy that has been ranked the best in the world; F&B must be part of the discussion.

The approach, according to Passalacqua, is to immerse guests in a feeling. That feeling is that they’re staying at their own country home or the elegant home of an Italian friend.

So, a guest may find their way to the kitchen. And that guest may find themselves chatting with the brigade, and then learning how to make pasta or tasting through wines that were just delivered.

Forget the chef’s table—this is an invitation to the chef’s home.

From what I can find, the F&B program at Passalacqua is incredible but unpretentious. It’s a carefree breakfast, an airy lunch with new friends, and an intimate yet convivial dinner with one’s favorite people.

This is quiet luxury and indulgence, and, to me, is what sets Passalacqua apart.

What World’s 50 Best Hotels Says

For further insight into why Passalacqua boasts the title of Best Hotel in the World, consider the following:

“Set within spectacular terraced gardens and unfolding over just 24 rooms in an 18th-century villa, Passalacqua is a showcase of the finest Italian craftsmanship in a sumptuous riot of ornate Baroque elegance. Ceiling carvings, original frescoes, Murano chandeliers and perfectly manicured gardens: it all comes together in a sublime retreat.

“The hotel is the creation of the De Santis family, whose history in hospitality is manifest throughout the Passalacqua operation. Each element of the hotel, from its lauded design to its formidable staff and breathtaking location, works in total symbiosis to earn the establishment the inaugural title of The World’s Best Hotel 2023.”

“From its perch amid private grounds in Moltrasio, the hotel’s 24 rooms are spread out over three buildings: the main villa, the eight-room Palazz (housed in the former stables with giant original exposed beams) and the four-suite Casa al Lago down by the lake. Last week we checked out the top 50 restaurants around the world, and today we’re taking a look at those ranked 51 to 100.

Narrowing down the 50 best restaurants in the world is a harrowing task. So it makes sense that the World’s 50 Best Restaurants expanded the list to the best 100. Even that, however, must be daunting.

France performed particularly well on the 100 to 51 list this year, clinching six spots. Four of those, unsurprisingly, are located in Paris.

The US, Bangkok, and Spain each have four restaurants on the list. For the US, two restaurants make the rankings in both California and New York.

Operators in Japan earn three spots, with two restaurants in Tokyo and one in Osaka. London also achieves three places on this list.

A number of countries, regions, and cities have two restaurants on the 2023 100 to 51 list: Cape Town, Denmark, Hong Kong, Istanbul, and Mexico.

Again, like to 50 to 1, Canada and Australia don’t have restaurants ranked anywhere on the 51 through 100 list.

Last Year’s 100 to 51 List

A number of restaurants from the 2022 World’s Best Restaurants, 100 to 51 are also on this year’s list.

Flocons de Sel, located in Megève, France, likely made the greatest gains. In 2022, the restaurant was ranked number 99. This year, Flocons de Sel earned the number 80 spot.

A few restaurants made humble but notable steps in the right direction. As an example, New York’s Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare climbed from 63 to 61. And Ernst, located in Berlin, went from number 62 in 2022 to 55 this year.

Unfortunately, Sud 777 in Mexico City tumbled in 2023. Last year, the venue reached the number 52 spot. This year, however, it’s number 70. That said, it’s the number 70 restaurant in the world. Nothing to be ashamed of, and I won’t be surprised to see the Sud 777 team drive the restaurant back toward the 50s or better in 2024.

We finally know which venues from around the globe claim one of the top 50 spots on the 2023 World’s Best Restaurants list.

As you’ll see below, a few countries and cities perform very well on this year’s list.

For example, five of this year’s restaurants are in Italy, one of which is in the top ten. However, restaurants throughout Spain grab six spots on this year’s list. Three of these are among the top ten restaurants.

France claims four spots. Three of those are in Paris, and one is in the top ten.

London takes three spots, as do Mexico City, and Tokyo. One restaurant in the top ten is in Mexico City.

America has just two restaurants on the 2023 World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Both are in New York City, one is in the top ten. Bangkok, Bogotá, Dubai, and German also each have two restaurants on the list.

Peru, like France, also boasts four spots on the list. Each of these four are located in Lima, and two restaurants are among the top ten. Most importantly, one of those restaurants is the number-one restaurant in the world.

For our Canadian and Australian readers, I’m sorry to report that there are no restaurants on the list below that are in your respective countries.

For example, Ikoyi in London, England, was number 49 last year. The restaurant climbs to number 35 this year.

Bogotá’s Leo was number 48 in 2022 but rises to 43 in 2023.

Central fought to climb one place. Last year, Central was number two. Now, they’re the best restaurant in the world.

2023 Reveal: The World’s 50 Best Hotels

The World’s 50 Best Hotels launches this year, completing the hospitality puzzle as it joins the World’s 50 Best Bars and the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Mark Sansom, content director for the World’s 50 Best Bars, shares details of the new list on episode 90 of the Bar Hacks podcast. To learn more about Mark and the World’s 50 Best Bars, you can also listen to episode 82 of Bar Hacks.

This is huge news for the hospitality, travel, and accommodation sectors. Sansom and the team go to great lengths when it comes to every detail of the World’s 50 Best Bars. Indeed, the awards ceremony is truly the Oscars of the bar world. Just take a look at the video below:

In fact, it’s likely a bit more fun than the Oscars. A room full of the best bar teams and industry professionals? You know it’s a nonstop party.

I say to say this: I expect the Oscars of the hotel world for the inaugural 50 Best Hotels ceremony. And I’m confident the team will deliver on that expectation.

Who Decides?

You’re probably wondering how all of this “works.” Just who decides, among all the hotels throughout the world, which are the 50 best?

As Sansom explains on the Bar Hacks podcast, hundreds of people decide.

For 2023, the World’s 50 Best Hotels is split into nine regions. That’s likely to grow (50 Best Bars and Restaurants each have 28 regions) but for now, that’s the breakdown.

Each of those regions is headed by an Academy Chair. The global Academy Chairs hand select voters. In this case, a mix of 580 travel journalists, educators, hospitality professionals, hoteliers, and luxury travelers. The voters are tasked with highlighting their top seven hotel experiences from the past two years.

A small board of directors isn’t deciding which hotels will make the list. There’s no small group choosing the ranking. Instead, hundreds of industry pros and hotel guests will determine the best of the best.

How do They Decide?

This is one of my favorite details. When it comes to criteria…there isn’t any.

I like this for several reasons, one of which is that nothing arbitrary is limiting these awards. Don’t have a pool? That’s fine. No steam shower in the en suite? Okay.

By eschewing criteria, no concept is left out—no property is excluded. As Sansom says on episode 90 of Bar Hacks, imposing criteria means people could miss out on experiencing stunning twelve-room boutique hotel.

Therefore, this list isn’t the exclusive domain of multi-unit, multi-concept hotel groups. Certainly there will be chain properties up for consideration. However, they’ll be mixing it up with boutique and solo, independent hotels.

Sansom also reveals what’s driving them to launch the World’s 50 Best Hotels. Far from a vanity project, this list is about helping the industry.

Like hospitality, travel and accommodation are recovering from a global pandemic. Highlighting the best hotels in the world should inspire people to get back to leisure travel.

Discover the World’s 50 Best with this Helpful Tool

You may be familiar with the World’s 50 Best Bars and the World’s 50 Best Restaurants rankings, but do you know about their Discovery tool?

On episode 82 of the Bar Hacks podcast, Mark Sansom mentions this powerful and helpful tool. Sansom, for those who have yet to listen to the episode, is the content director for the World’s 50 Best Bars.

Put plainly, the World’s 50 Best rankings are powerful and influential. As Sansom says, when the organization shouts, people listen. Making the 100 to 51 or 50 to one list can change a restaurant or bar’s business. Exposure, traffic, revenue, status, longevity… The restaurant and bar lists are game changers for those who work hard enough to earn a spot.

However, the World’s 50 Best, as the name suggests, ranks just a few hundred restaurants and bars:

So, the organization put their heads together. What if they could increase the chances that thousands of venues could find themselves on the radar of millions of people across the world? What could that do for a much larger swathe of deserving restaurants and bars?

50 Best Discovery

Enter, the 50 Best Discovery database.

“That’s the more egalitarian face of 50 Best, and that’s where we’re really excited about moving in the future,” says Sansom.

According to Sansom, there are more than 2,500 restaurants and bars just waiting for, well, discovery. It is, as he says, “the world’s most authoritative database on restaurants and bars anywhere.”

Compellingly, this is more than just a lonely input field chilling out on a webpage. Rather, there’s also a slideshow of 50 Best editor’s picks to scroll through. In using the tool for this article I discovered the following venues without even scrolling:

  • Franklin Barbecue in Austin, Texas
  • Cal Pep in Barcelona, Spain
  • Amass in Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Fyn Restaurant in Cape Town, South Africa

In other words, this tool is aptly named: The mission is discovery, and I’d say that mission is well on its way to achievement.

North America Results

Given the potential of the 50 Best Discovery database, I of course took it for a spin. You can do the same by clicking here.

Below, my results. In the interest of full transparency, it appears some cities in North America could use some work.

However, I feel confident that the 50 Best Discovery database will improve over time. After all, this is a new tool. Remember, the North America 50 Best Bars list is also brand new. As the organization recognizes more regions and venues, they’ll develop their database further.

Finally, the World’s 50 Best announces the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, an impressive list of the finest places to dine across the globe.

Of course, this highly anticipated news comes on the heels of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, 51 to 100. Last night, host Stanley Tucci and special guest co-hosts announced the winners in London.

Perhaps not too surprisingly, only three American restaurants are among this year’s top fifty. Of those three, one is in Healdsburg, California, which is the wine-producing region of Sonoma County. The other two American restaurants are in New York City, which isn’t exactly a surprise. And of those two restaurants, one, number 33 on this year’s list, is the winner of the Gin Mre Art of Hospitality Award.

Unfortunately, there are no Canadian restaurants on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 list. That applies to the back half of the list, numbers 51 to 100, as well.

Interestingly, the restaurant taking home the title of World’s Best Restaurant 2022 took the number two spot in 2021. Another hint: This year’s number one, by clinching the top slot, is also the Best Restaurant in Europe 2022.

Just a week away from their big 2022 reveal, numbers 51 through 100 of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants is now available.

As one expects, these restaurants represent the pinnacle of dining. The 2022 list also represents a number of changes in comparison to 2021.

For example, a number of restaurants in the Middle East are among this year’s 51 to 100 rankings. Notably, these restaurants were not included on last year’s list. In fact, nearly half of the restaurants are new entries on the 51 to 100 list.

Additionally, the 2022 list represents six continents. This year, four “new” countries and a sovereign island city-state make the 51 to 100 rankings:

  • Argentina
  • China
  • Germany
  • Singapore
  • UAE

The regional breakdown is as follows:

  • Asia: 14 restaurants
  • Europe: 13 venues
  • North America: 11 concepts
  • Middle East: 2 restaurants
  • Africa: 2 concepts
  • Oceania: 1 venue
  • South America: 7 restaurants

Just six American restaurants are on the list. Three are in New York, two in San Francisco, and one is in Chicago. Disappointingly, zero Canadian restaurants are among the 51 to 100 rankings.

Restaurants one through 50 will be revealed on Monday, July 18. Numbers 51 to 100 of the World’s 50 Best Bars will be revealed Tuesday, September 27.
